Personal Doctrinal Statement of InTheStreets Ministries
1. I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures. I believe the original manuscripts were given by inspiration of God and were without error. I believe the God who gave His word to man has taken upon Himself the responsibility for its preservation (Psalms 12:6-7). I believe the incorruptible word of God which cannot pass away is available to the English speaking world in the Authorized Version.
This Bible is my final authority in all matters. Psalm 119:140, Proverbs 30:5
2. I believe in the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost and that these three are distinct and yet are one. 1 John 5:7-8
3. I believe that all mankind is sinful, in need of salvation, and unable to save himself and that man was created as a responsible being and as such, he may choose to accept or reject the grace of God.
Ephesians 2:1 2 Peter 3:9
4. I believe that Christ died for the sins of all mankind and that salvation is by grace, through faith, plus nothing and minus nothing based on the finished work of Christ on the cross.
Ephesians 2:8-9 Titus 3:5
5. I believe the Holy Spirit is essential to the new birth. John 3:5-8
6. I believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ and His bodily ascension into heaven, where he now intercedes for believers. Ephesians 4:8 John 11:25 John 14:1-3
7. I believe the saved child of God is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ, and is sealed, taught, and comforted by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. Ephesians 1:13 1 Peter 1:5
8. I believe salvation makes one a member of the body of Christ and the members of this body should gather together in a local church where they may minister one to another. Romans 12:4, Hebrews 10:25
9. I believe all men rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the torment of a literal lake of fire Luke 16, while those receiving the Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the glorious presence of God. 1Thessalonians 4:17
10. I believe in the judgment of believers at the Judgment Seat of Christ and the judgment of unbelievers at the Great White Throne. Revelation 20:11, 2Corinthians 5:10 Revelation 20:13-15
11. I believe in the eternal security of the believer. 1John 5:13
12. I believe it is the responsibility of every believer to proclaim the saving gospel to all men by personal testimony and by giving of their means to finance the missionary efforts of the church.
2Timothy 4:2 Acts 1:8
13. I believe that any attempt by the state to interfere with the working of the church or by the church to interfere with the working of the state is a violation of God's purpose for both.
14. I believe that two ordinances of the local church are baptism by immersion for believers and the Lord's Supper as a memorial and that neither are a requirement for salvation.
Matthew 28:19 Acts 2:41 1Co 11:24
15. I believe in the imminent, literal, pre-tribulation rapture of all believers. 1Thessalonians 4:16
16. I believe in the pre-millennial return and millennial reign of the Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation 20:4
17. I believe that the church is a body of which Jesus is the head. Thus it is not a democracy to be run by the will of its members but is to conduct its temporal as well as its spiritual business in strict accordance to the word of God. Ephesians 5:23
18. I believe all saved men should be separate from the outward and inner ways of this world, being holy in mind and body. I believe, however, that righteousness does not come by keeping of laws and commandments but by an inner change of heart. I therefore place emphasis on the inner condition, trusting the outward appearance to follow accordingly. 1 John 2:28
19. I believe that God is sovereign in the endowment of all His gifts, and the gifts of evangelists and pastor-teachers are sufficient for the perfecting of the saints today. Ephesians 4:11
20. I believe that speaking in tongues and the working of sign miracles ceased when the New Testament Scriptures were completed. 1Corinthians 13:8
21. I believe that all forms of compromise with liberalism, ecumenicism, new evangelicalism, or the charismatic movement should be avoided by those who wish to live in obedience to God. Proverbs 24:21
22. I reject the tenants of Calvinism, especially those represented by the acronym TULIP.
