Dr. Raegan Bishop


Dr. Bishop is an experimental psychologist with specializations in social and health psychology. Her primary research interests are minority health outcomes and health behaviors, particularly among African Americans. Dr. Bishop's work largely focuses on the impact of the different levels of the socio-ecological model factors and how they influence physical activity and dietary behaviors, including social support, personal beliefs, and community. More specifically, her work has focused on bias in pain perception and the role of interpersonal relationships and personal beliefs in individuals' participation in healthy behaviors. Dr. Bishop is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Institutes of Health, where she works on the implementation of tools that can be used to inform individuals about their risk for common complex diseases and encourage family health communication.
